The New York Times is reporting on a program run by the International Center of Photography that is using photography with Latina and Black women as a means of therapy.

Of course, art and therapy is nothing new, but the use of digital photography as an instantaneous means to create “art” as well as affect the way people see others and themselves is one of those cool applications of technology that we’d all like to see more often.

Interesting program. Here’s a link to another useful site that deals with the power of photography to help build or rebuild self-esteem. http://www.photographictherapy.com Here’s a press release http://www.prweb.com/releases/photographic/therapy/prweb1967544.htm on the search for 100 women that will showcase the inner- and outer-beauty in 100 Photographic Voices. Thanks, rg.
