We talk to a lot of photographers, and we constantly hear about their anxiety surrounding the industry given the shift to digital, the rise of the Internet, microstock, etc. Times have changed all too quickly, and many photographers feel like they are treading water.

We talk to a lot of image buyers, and we constantly hear how their needs aren’t being met. Photos are stale and generic, and photographers aren’t taking advantage of technology in a way that benefits the buyer.

So we talked amongst ourselves.

Photography 2.0 is our series of traveling Town Hall meetings designed to bring together top photographers and image buyers from around the country to address the business of photography in the digital era. Let’s come together and create some solutions.

Will there be any plan to record these events either as video or to transcribe the proceedings for viewing by those who cannot attend? I would be willing to pay for such a thing. I won’t be able to attend any of these events because I will be out of the country on assignment, but the concept and subject is timely and important.

For those of us who aren’t resident in the US…is there any way to post the City Tour conclusions on the PS blog? Or maybe a city-by-city report? I’d be very interested to hear what conclusions and new ideas come out of the tour.

We are looking to provide some sort of public record of the event, although things are not finalized yet. And a number of organizations that haven’t been formally announced yet have stepped up, and will hopefully be adding to the mix. We’re really excited to get these town halls going.

Please give us (the photographers of Europe selling on Photoshelter ) a way to receive documents or video or other kind of info of the event. Are you planning to perform in Europe somewhere ? (Paris, Milan, London , Madrid , Munich etc. please pick one … ;-) Thank you in advance ! Marco Nero – Studionero, Milan, Italy
