Sometimes contact sheets can provide an unexpected narrative of their own. David Black found some of his old contacts and posted them on his blog. I couldn't help but pull this one.
A sheet, a chandelier, and a vacant stare... very nice.

I miss proof sheets!
I'm very attached to my ol' contact sheets. They're better than diaries.
I recently got hold of a second hand copy of the Lustrum Press book 'Contact:Theory'[1980] which has some great stuff - contact sheets from loads of photographers (Robert Adams,Louis Faurer,Ellot Erwitt,Mary Ellen Mark etc] along with their commentaries on selection/editing,and so forth...really recommended.
They did some other great books in this vein too - Darkroom:Theory, Portrait etc.
