Christina's World, Take Four.

I've always had a soft spot for Andrew Wyeth's 1948 painting Christina's World. So when I found myself on a hill reminiscent of the landscape a few years ago on a walk with my mother, I plopped her right down and made my own version. I was therefore pleased to see Daryl Lang over at PDN draw the comparison the other day with Michael Williamson's image from his Washington Post story on wheat. And then an astute commenter reminded Daryl of the Ryan McGinley image Running Fields, which is also reminiscent.

Anyone else out there channeling Christina?

Ah, High Grass, especially. We love the Amy Stein.

Well, this does not have a Christina in it, but the house....well, you judge...

Wish I'd had a Christina handy at the time cause other than the angle, I think it would have been close...and it was shot in Downeast Maine.

Funny I should stumble upon this post, someone recently emailed me about this picture: http://wink.nixone.com/archives/765 indicating a subtle resemblance/association to 'Christina's World'...
