Holy Shorpy, it's Fleet Week!

I saw some drunken sailors skittering down the cobblestones near Christopher Street last night, and sent myself straight to Shorpy to find some naval-inspired shots. And my visit did not disappoint. I cannot believe Nurse Hamaguchi! That's the best Ansel Adams image I have ever seen.

"It's Fleet Week and the streets are filled with Seamen." Ahem.

Great collection here. I agree on Nurse Hamaguchi. One of the most exciting Ansel Adams photos I've seen. Beautiful.

Blade Runner's epic style.

Nice little sideshow with commentary about the inspiration and influence of BR's designs.

Is this testing whether I'm a replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?

ooh, well done, Rachael!
