I saw some drunken sailors skittering down the cobblestones near Christopher Street last night, and sent myself straight to Shorpy to find some naval-inspired shots. And my visit did not disappoint. I cannot believe Nurse Hamaguchi! That’s the best Ansel Adams image I have ever seen.

“It’s Fleet Week and the streets are filled with Seamen.” Ahem. Great collection here. I agree on Nurse Hamaguchi. One of the most exciting Ansel Adams photos I’ve seen. Beautiful.

Blade Runner’s epic style. http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/movies/20070930_KAPLAN_FEATURE/index.html Nice little sideshow with commentary about the inspiration and influence of BR’s designs.
