Aperture is offering a limited-edition print of Polixeni Papapetrou's The Wimmera, from her Haunted Country Series. Papapetrou returned to her native Australia to make these images, which stem from the fear and folklore (some if it quite true) about being lost in the Australian Outback.
I think the rugged landscapes of these prints are what set them apart, as well as the childrens' style of dress. Seems part Walker Evans, part Big Love. Interesting how the adolescents and Australians chose to show up today. Synchronicity.
