This is the kind of thing I'm generally late to, so excuse me if you've already seen Rotterdam-based photographer Ari Versluis and stylist Ellie Uyttenbroek's project Exactitudes, which was "inspired by a shared interest in the striking dress codes of various
social groups, they have systematically documented numerous identities
over the last 13 years.
Rotterdam's heterogeneous, multicultural street scene remains a major
source of inspiration for Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek, although
since 1998 they have also worked in cities abroad."

I have seen this before! New York Magazine, maybe? It's like the MasterCard commercial where all the dudes have vintage t-shirts, designer jeans and gross haircuts. Being a huge fan of finding patterns in seeming randomness, I love this stuff.
Joslyn, You are correct. Versluis was hired by NYMag to shoot the cover of their "Grups" article on people in their 30s who look (and act) like they're still in their 20s.
It's also quite similar to Hans Eijkelboom's work-

I love the socio-anthropological aspect to this work.
I remember seeing it for the first time a few years ago, loving it, but then being disappointed to learn that the uniformity was "styled" and not just "found". But I'm not sure if this is true and after reviewing their site just now, I'm still not sure.
Any clarity on this?
