SATURDAY SHOUTOUTS, FIST BUMPS & PHOTOSHELTER FINDS

We really liked the response to last week’s shoutouts, so a little more of the same to close out the week. Please keep us posted on what you’re up to, so we can share your news and achievements here too!

Special thanks to the organizers of DC Shootoff 2010 (still taking place right now) for inviting us to speak on photography websites and SEO. The DC Shootoff is the annual photojournalism workshop held by the National Association of Naval Photography. We joined them in DC for the event this morning, and it was great to connect with PhotoShelter members Stacy Pearsall and Johnny Bivera. Yet we were bummed to have missed Tom Sperduto, Melissa Golden, and John Harrington.

Congrats to freelance drag racing and motorsports photographer Dom Romney, who recently garnered the Renault MSA Young Motorsport Photographer of the year award.

Over in the blog world…Congrats to PhotoShelter member Robert Caplin on launching The Photo Brigade to recognize and share the blogposts and work of other freelance photographers. The Photo Brigade is looking for more photographers to feature, so submit your story today. And, a belated congrats to former PhotoShelter blogger Rachel Hulin for launching The Photography Post.

And some work that caught our eye this week…

Mexican photographer Ben Olivares caught Grover’s eye with his beautiful shots of agave plants (before they become tequila).
