I subscribed to your RSS feed on the iPad and looked forward to seeing the photos but obviously can't because they're coming up in Flash. Did I subscribe to the wrong feed or are you just not supporting iOS devices yet?

As I see it, iPad simply delivers a new canvas. If you're only going to use it to communicate the way you've always communicated, then yes... you've missed the point. For me, I see it the same way I've always viewed people who see technology as a means to allow them to get more done.... so they can do more. I've always attempted to harness technology to allow me to do better.... not just work better... but live better, use my time better to free up quality time for myself and my family. iPad is like the difference between teaching kids to memorize or teaching kids how to think. No, it's not a big iPhone. No its not replacing your laptop. It's a clean sheet. It's an opportunity to think different. It can and will monetize the Internet. The winners will embrace quality content and delivery which in turn will require higher quality creativity. The result will allow a publisher to pull a higher demographic of reader/viewer. The smart players will see the potential mergers of media.... print, broadband, video, audio, still photos... and yes... the written word. Likewise, advertisers that employ unique interaction will get the most value from their presence and their budgets... which will now benefit from niche platforms and target audiences... all while reaching that audience asynchronously. If the original iPad is comparable to the original version of Pong, buckle up baby... we're in for a wild ride. <a href="http://www.johnthawley.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.johnthawley.com</a>

We have spent quite a few hours getting to know Version 1.0 of the Apple iPad. One thing is for certain, this device is a game-changer for ePublishers.
I think the iPad will help change photography. In my case it already has. I'm already earning money from my iPad application, Avian Wallpaper. That's money I would not have made if there weren't an iPad. I've written extensively about this on my iPad blog at <a href="http://padpundit.com/archives/131" rel="nofollow">http://padpundit.com/archives/131</a> which also has links to the other two posts I've published on the subject.

To quote Strobist, "As a publisher, I have been counseling my advertisers to consider moving from Flash display ads to something that can be seen on the iPad, iPod and iPhone -- at least until the new HTML5 capabilities come online." Is Photoshelter working towards HTML5 for its photographer's slideshows vs. flash?
