This week, we write about one photographer spending an entire week in the airport – that’s one serious delay! Another photographer has a calendar of her images published, another gets us all excited about Belgium (if you can believe that). But wait – there’s more – in this edition of Shout-Outs.

Shout-Outs are a regular Friday thing, and you can be part of it too. Send us suggestions! If we think it’s worth shouting about, it will show up here in the blog on a Friday. To submit something, scroll to the bottom to see how.

A WEEK IN THE AIRPORT

Richard Baker, a photographer based in the UK, has 89 of his images in “A Week at the Airport: A Heathrow Diary” by Alain de Botton, published by Profile Books. However, he has another 391 that weren’t included in the book.  He recently shared the unpublished images in an online gallery, and provided a story about the project on his blog.

GOODALL PLANTS TREES
I spotted this on Twitter, and it amused me, so I thought it would be only fair to mention it..

Craig Ferguson, a photographer based in Taipei, Taiwan, shot photos of Jane Goodall planting trees with Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou.

Goodall is considered to be the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees, and is best known for her life-long study of wild chimpanzees.

THE HITS KEEP COMING!
Photographer Neil Holmes is a freelance photographer based in Kingston upon Hull. He recently linked his blog to his PhotoShelter website, and noticed a spike in traffic. (Nice!)

I checked out his customzied website and blog combo, and I must say that the integration is pretty sweet. Great job, Neil.

SWEET VIDEOS
UK-based photographer Carl Pendle just added three new videos to his PhotoShelter website using the custom page feature.

Carl does a really nice job with video. I suggest checking out his video of the Rolls Royce assembly line. Great access into a fascinating process. Also, don’t miss his video on Belgium – which is loaded with images of what Belgians do best: chocolate, beer, waffles, and endive.

ELEGANT, LUSH, SERENE
Stacy Bass, a Connecticut-based photographer, has her image featured in a calendar titled “Beautiful Gardens 2011 Wall Calendar.”

“Elegant. Lush. Serene. Beautiful Gardens features breathtaking photographs of 13 intimate outdoor spaces,” the description reads. “From the sculpted beauty of an English garden, to the tranquility of a backyard retreat, each image offers a botanical aesthetic that will inspire you throughout the year.”

I am always looking for things to include here in our Friday Shout-Outs – so if you have anything you think is worthy, let me know. One great way to do that is to post a note to Twitter with my name in it (@heygrover) and that way I won’t forget it later. Don’t have Twitter? Email me, grover-at-photoshelter-dot-com.
