Amazing Examples of Long Exposure Photography

Shooting pictures when there is very little available light (like at night) is fun, but results (at least for me) are a total crap-shoot. Really long exposures usually require a tripod, a steady hand and lots of patience. I don’t have much patience, so that’s why I really appreciate well-done long-exposure photography.

Here are some that I really like – found within PhotoShelter.

The Night Rider by Gabriel Morosan.

Etherscape by Paolo De Faveri

Light Graffiti in Berlin by João Paglione

Ayers Rock and Star Trails by Paul Souders

Highway Lights from sodapix/F1online

Light Painting by Matt Crawford

Flinders Station by Jérôme Berbigier

Great choices. I have one in an early blog post that didn’t turn out as I’d planned but I liked the effect anyway. In fact, I used it as the cover of a book I published through blurb. One of the many photos that I have yet to put up on my PS website. I’ve gotten comments that people either love it or hate it. Is it a happy accident or just a blur? http://travelstockphotos.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html Would love to know what you think. -Marianne
