The Magnum Expression Award was established by Magnum Photos in an effort to raise awareness and inspire change through photography. We are proud have supported this award since its 2009 inception by hosting the submission process
and providing PhotoShelter accounts for finalists and the Grand Prize
winner. This is one of photography’s most rewarding competitions — as the Grand Prize winner will also receive a $10,000 grant to support the
continuation of his/her work, mentorship from Magnum’s jury
photographers, incredible products from HP and Blurb, and some very
significant exposure throughout the year.

The 2010 edition of the Magnum Expression Award received portfolio entries from more than 150 countries and territories worldwide – some truly exceptional photography from all over the globe.

Magnum just announced 20 finalists for the award. The group truly represents the global nature of the award and the competition’s intentions.  “With great personal and individual vision, the participants have exhibited strong visual literacy and innovative presentations of stories focused around this year’s theme of ‘documentary’.”  See the work of all finalists.
