VIDEO: A Photo Student’s Guide to Turning Pro – Part 1: Marketing

Last year, I convinced a bunch of really great/wise/talented/smart/successful photographers to help me put together a post titled “The Top 11 Things Photographers Wish They Learned in Photo School“. It was wildly popular, and more than 200,000 people have seen it to date.

Since there was an obvious interest in this topic, we decided to create a 6-part webinar series called “Beyond The Classroom: A Photo Student’s Guide to Turning Pro“, and partnered up with Mac-on-Campus to deliver it to the masses.

The first webinar was recorded, and is now available here. Part 2  — about “Inspiration” — is coming soon, and it addresses how you can remain inspired, creative, and relevant throughout the duration of your photo career.

Join PhotoShelter co-founder Grover
Sanschagrin and Mac-On-Campus for the first installment of the Beyond

Hi Grover, This was without doubt the best photography marketing information I have come across! I’ve now got 13 pages of notes that I can work from just from one hours video. I’d highly recommend it every photographer looking at taking their marketing to the next level. I’ve already got my work on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michael-Gordon-Photography/179422178736259) and will be moving into building a website/blog/twitter etc in the near future. hi Grover, i totally endorse what Michael and Ruth say above. One hour of action packed information. I am a travel photographer and have a website with photoshelter (www.bhavenjani.photoshelter.com), and went about making various updates on my site to make it SEO friendly while I viewed this video (e.g. including keywords in file names, page titles, making my site searchable on photoshelter etc). Absolutely awesome stuff.

I also run a travel blog at http://www.bhavenjani.wordpress.com and I think my next step is going to be to make the blog SEO friendly by applying what I learnt here.

    Keep it going. cheers, Bhaven
