Nine ways to piss off a photographer: 1. Be late. 2. Be a chatterbox. 3. Wear the wrong clothes for the job, i.e. wearing shorts and flip flops for corporate shoot. 4. Leave your cell phone on and answer it during a shoot or send and receive text messages. 5. Order the most expensive thing on the menu. 6. Leave the set during while the shoot is taking place. 7. Converse with the subject or client during the shoot and then converse in a language the photographer doesn't speak or comprehend. 8. Break down the equipment without asking first. 9. Hand out your business card or even worse, show your work to the client.

In the mid-eighties working on a record album shoot. The location had been burned to a crisp the week before, the ash covered hillside was perfect for the concept. Worked 20 hours for $40.00. Set up 12 Norman 2000 packs and 24 heads plus a fogger. Learned a lot. Like never work for this knucklehead again.....

I remember my first assisting jobs: 1. working 24 hours straight on a music video as a production assistant for $175. I did get fed. I wasn't told how long the day would be. Year: Early 90s. 2. working 18 hours straight as a 2nd photographer on a big Hindu wedding for $400. I did get fed. I wasn't told how long the day would be. Year: 2006.
