10 Insane Photos of the “Gatorade Shower”

Did you know? When a U.S. sports team makes a major win, like the Super Bowl, it’s pretty much required that players dump a cooler of Gatorade (or water) over the coach’s head.

Did you also know? It’s said that this tradition got its start after the New York Giants beat the Washington Redskins in an important mid-season game in 1985 (the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl that year, and head coaches ever since can thank them for this very wet and sticky celebratory tradition).

As our hometown favorite New York Giants face off in the Super Bowl this weekend, we’re hoping to see that Gatorade Shower on our side once again.
