You missed out on one of the potentially most powerful capacities of a Google Profile, establishing authorship via rel=author markup.

This act confirms that content such as this article is actually written by the author by tying it back to a Google Profile. Google considers &quot;who&quot; creates content potentially more powerful than &quot;what&quot; and establishing authorship. In addition to elevating the authority of a website or article, it also enabled the rather prominent avatar appearing next to the website or article in the search results.

I personally consider establishing rel=author a critical element for any creator of original web content, text or imagery (assuming that the content is not created anonymously).</description>
