This weekend, some of the PhotoShelter team is headed down to Charlottesville, Virginia for the LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, and we are pretty darn excited.  LOOK3 is one of our favorite photo festivals for its organic celebration of photography and commitment to bringing the photography community together.

Every year LOOK3 features exhibits, outdoor projects, workshops, interviews, and more  for three days and nights. The photographer exhibitions are enough to get me pumped up (Alex Webb, Stanley Greene, Bruce Gilden, David Doubilet & more) but on top of that there’s presentations by National Geographic, Adobe, Burn Magazine – among others. Some of the events we’re looking to hit include:

• Hope for a Healthy World Exhibit: this traveling global health exhibit is sponsored by BD and used to raid awareness for health-related issues.
• INsight Conversation with Donna Ferrato: renowned documentary photographer.
• LUCEO @ LOOK3: a living exhibition by our friends at LUCEO where 36 separate images have been hidden throughout the festival.
• Master Talks including Bruce Gilden: documentary photographer who was profiled in PhotoShelter’s Crowdfunding Your Photography Project guide.
