Luminance 2012 Photo Competition: The 3rd & Final Brief is Live!
For those of you who haven’t been alerted, the third and final brief is live and open for submissions for our Luminance 2012 Photo Competition hosted by ImageBrief. So head over to ImageBrief and enter your photo (only one submission per photographer, please) for the chance to win $1,213 and have your image displayed at Luminance 2012!
Here’s how it works: Participants must submit their entries through ImageBrief for consideration, which means that you’ll need to create a completely free ImageBrief account before you submit your photos. In order to be processed quickly, be sure to include “PHOTOSHELTER” in the “Tell Us About Yourself” section of the application. ImageBrief’s platform allows buyers to post briefs online, and then photographers can submit images that fit the brief.
Here’s the premise: We believe in the power of photography to help explain complicated things. In the spirit of simplification through photography and the theme of the event, we’ve chosen a quote for you to interpret with an image:
The Future + Photographer = ??
Your challenge is to submit an image that you feel represents the future of photography.
To enter, simply create a free ImageBrief account to access the Luminance 2012 Photo Competition #3: Are You a Futurist? brief. Deadline is this Tuesday, September 4th. So what are you waiting for? Head over to ImageBrief and submit your photos!
Luminance seems like a fun thing , but is it not a tad ironic that the Luminance “title sponsor” is Shutterstock? The agency has the very business model that has made it so much harder for individual photographers (Photoshelter clients) to get a decent price for their pictures. Granted, Shutterstock is not the only agency dumping prices for volume sales, but they are a major player partly responsible for the declining sales for individual photographers. I find it odd PS teaming up with them.
Hi Lauren,
I loved to be featured in your blog. Love Photoshelter and been with you guys since the beginning!
Looking forward to hear from you!
Best,
Victor Elias
Hi Lauren, I’m happy to have had a chance to meet you at the Luminance Workshop (I was an early bird at the registration table, of course you remember me out of the hundreds of other photographer clones, I was the one with a back pack.)
I just posted my own brief blog about the workshops, http://blog.brokawphoto.com/blog/2012/09/joe-mcnally-robert-seale-zach-arias-and-brian-smith/. I could have spent a week with each of these guys. I wish I could have gone to all the workshops.
Enjoying the conference immensely. TED Talks for Photographers.
