Announcing: Foliobook and PhotoShelter Integration

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with iPad portfolio app leader, Foliobook. With this integration, you can easily select and download images directly from your PhotoShelter account to create a Foliobook portfolio on your iPad in just minutes.

Foliobook gives you a way to showcase your images in a beautiful, full screen format without an internet connection, or the hassle of re-sizing and re-uploading to another platform.

Why Foliobook?

Foliobook is used by thousands of photographers worldwide including glowing reviews from renowned photographers Brian Smith and Scott Kelby. In addition to being among the most professional and customizable portfolio apps available,  its easy-to-use and clean interface gives you the flexibility to easily tailor and update your portfolio to your audience.  Simply add up to 200 photos to the app, and choose the images you’d like to showcase for each prospective buyer or client on a case-by-case basis.

And, because it is a native app, there’s no need to worry about a lack of or slow wireless connection (or any wireless connection at all) during an important presentation.

How does it work?

Foliobook is available in the Apple’s App Store for a one time payment of $12.99.  The PhotoShelter integration is built-in and available to all Foliobook users. You can find it when adding more images to your Foliobook, under the plus sign.

Here PhotoShelter member, Foliobook user and photojournalist Patrick Fallon demonstrates the easy steps to take when adding images from your PhotoShelter account to your portfolio:

The ability to customize your Foliobook is what makes it wholly yours.  You can chose the font and placement of your name (or business name), the navigation options and placement of the navigation, background colors, and more.  Here’s a few examples of creative Foliobook covers for some inspiration:

Does Foliobook support video?

Yes! Foliobook supports video, offers richer ways to show both horizontal and vertical images, and allows for image captions via IPTC metadata import.

So how do I get it?

How come all the comments on iTunes store are ‘negative’ about this app? Has it been updated since those reviews were posted? I am interested in purchasing this but not if the reviews are accurate!

This is great news! I have been using both Foliobook and PhotoShelter for some time now, and this adds more value to both. My biggest criticism of Foliobook was the file uploading process and this will make a major improvement to my workflow.

    Hi Jim,

Since the release of Foliobook thousands of photographers have downloaded the app, and there are over 200 reviews in the iTunes app store, many of them positive – with an overall rating of 3 1/2 stars. We’ve tested the app ourselves here in the PhotoShelter office with our own work and are very happy with the upload times, customization options, swipe capabilities and more.

    Hope that helps!
