Believe it or not, it was the first time that Andrew and I presented together. We tried to do our best Laurel and Hardy-schtick, but clearly the comic timing is still eluding us. No worries, we’ll have more chances in the future. There were some great questions surrounding SEO and Social Media – two continuously evolving disciplines of online marketing. The modern photographer needs to have a basic understand of both, and participate in both as their business demands. Remember, you need to know “who is the audience you have, and who is the audience you want?” in order to structure a successful business plan.
I’ve spoken on many panels with Lauren Wendle, who is as knowledgeable about the photo industry as anyone. It was my first time meeting Bill Hunt and Susan Bright, two extremely articulate and educated lecturers that you’ll find. Loved seeing the different photographers referenced in everyone’s presentations like Zed Nelson. It’s a constant reminder of all the incredible talent that exists, and how we can never stop discovering them.
