You know that lag time between when you see a lightning bolt, and then the sound of the thunder it creates? I always get all anxious until I hear the thunder, not knowing when it will come, or how loud it will be. And, of course I start to wonder if the bolt I just witnessed actually caused damage to anyone or anything.
When huge bolts of electricity are shooting randomly through the air, the last thing I’d want to do is have a metal tripod and electrical gear acting as a potential lure.
But, it looks like we’ve got a whole bunch of brave photogs here on PhotoShelter, because I found several really stunning examples of lightning photography within our image database.
