The word “footprints” randomly appeared in my head the other day for no good reason. Footprints are a metaphorical element that photographers almost can’t resist shooting when they see them. So I decided to do a search through the PhotoShelter database to see how many images of footprints I could find.

There are currently 8,387 images living in the PhotoShelter system that contain “footprints” as a search term.

Most of them show footprints in sand at the beach or in the desert. So I went searching for something different.

Here are 7 that I really like – all found within the PhotoShelter community.

Rich Clevidence Invitational Meet by Andrew Dolph.

Footprints, Dawlish Warren, Devon, 2010 by Paul Cooklin.

Footprints by Neil Bookman.

Lover’s footprints on the dock by Darrell Young.

Camel convoy near the Pakistani border by Steve McCurry.

Roy Rogers and Trigger by David Zanzinger.

Footprints in the snow by Ethan Welty.

If you’ve spotted (or shot) any cool images of footprints, please share them by posting a link below!
