This past month we’ve been excited to see new members trying out our brand new templates – and found a few using the Downtown template that truly took us aback with their fantastic work. Our newest batch of PhotoShelter members span across multiple genres, from old school black and white film, to commercial retouching, to food photography, we’ve been blown away with the talent we’ve discover on our platform in the past month.   • Location: Aspen, CO
  • Specialty and background: C2 Photography, based out of Aspen, Colorado, is made up of Emily Chaplin and Chris Council. Together, they work as a team on most of their editorial assignments for clients that span a large range: from local and national magazines such as Southern Living, Our State, Garden & Gun and Business Jet Traveler. They’ve also been hired for commercial work for everything from local restaurants to product companies to work for international p.r. firms. Self-taught, these two have been full-time for 4 years.   • Location: Scotland
  • Specialty and background: Inspired by dreamy aesthetics and conceptual fine art pieces, Rachael Sammon works mostly within the fashion space. A graduate the Robert Gordon University with a BA in Commercial Photography, Rachael has been shooting for years, but recently took the leap to be a full time freelancer within the last year.

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Specialty and background: When it comes to the food and publishing world, Laura Sant is a jack of all trades. Currently a digital editor at SAVEUR, Laura gets to put all her talents, including writing, photography, graphic design and baking, under one title. While she was a student at VCU’s School of the Arts Laura formally studied graphic design and photo, and her time training as a pastry chef got her into photographing sweet treats. “I feel very lucky to have ended up at SAVEUR, where I get to do so many of the things I love,” she says.

  • Name/Site: Jim Millett Photography

  • Member since: November 26, 2014
  • Location: Kensington, CA
  • Specialty and background: Jim Millett has been a working photographer since 1963 – and while he’s done some commercial work, he considers himself a true artist, putting his focus on his own portfolio – and not clients. Although mostly self-taught, he’s had the amazing opportunity to study under the greats such as  Jerry Uelsmann and Ruth Bernhard. He’s also had some “friendly encouragement” from Ansel Adams and Wynn Bullock. Jim has no plans to go digital, but says he’s “completely eclectic…to quote Imogen Cunningham: “I photograph anything that can be exposed to light.””

  • Specialty and background: Based in Los Angeles, Harms Media is a Creative Prepress, specializing in Retouching, Photo Finishing, and Traditional Prepress. With a decade of industry experience, we collaborate with Photographers, Advertising Agencies, and Entertainment Companies to help them express their vision. Armed with knowledge, inspired thinking, and passion for what we do, Harms Media believes every successful partnership is anchored in collaboration and every project should be effective and technically sound. In the words of Pablo Picasso, “There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into sun.”
