Colorado-based photographer Dave Showalter focuses on Western Conservation. A fellow with the ILCP (International League of Conservation Photographers), Dave recently presented his work on the grasslands, sagebrush and alpine ecosystems of the American West at their annual Wildspeak conference in Washington D.C. Dave has published two books – Sage Spirit: The American West at a Crossroads and Prairie Thunder – about the importance of the prairies in the Great Plains and the plants and creatures that inhabit the area.
I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Dave this Fall in Jackson, WY for the Summit Nature Photography Workshops, where he served as a faculty member along with fellow conservationists Melissa Groo and Michael Forsberg.
