I’ve always had a soft spot for Andrew Wyeth’s 1948 painting Christina’s World. So when I found myself on a hill reminiscent of the landscape a few years ago on a walk with my mother, I plopped her right down and made my own version. I was therefore pleased to see Daryl Lang over at PDN draw the comparison the other day with Michael Williamson’s image from his Washington Post story on wheat. And then an astute commenter reminded Daryl of the Ryan McGinley image Running Fields, which is also reminiscent.
Anyone else out there channeling Christina?
